Online Gambling Therapy in Illinois: What Telehealth Counseling Looks Like

If you live outside Chicago proper, or you’d simply rather not sit in a waiting room, telehealth therapy for gambling addiction is available anywhere in Illinois. It works the same way in-person therapy does, just through a video call from wherever you are.

How Telehealth Sessions Actually Work

Sessions happen over a secure video platform at a scheduled time, the same way you’d book an in-person appointment. There’s no special equipment needed, just a private space and a phone, tablet, or computer. Under Illinois licensing law, I can provide therapy by telehealth to anyone physically located in Illinois at the time of the session, regardless of what city or county they’re in.

Who Telehealth Works Well For

  • You live in the suburbs, downstate, or anywhere else in Illinois outside of downtown Chicago

  • Your schedule makes commuting to an office difficult, especially around work hours

  • You’d feel more comfortable talking about gambling from home than in a waiting room where you might see someone you know

  • You travel for work and want continuity of care wherever you are in the state

Getting Started

Telehealth isn’t a lesser version of therapy, it’s the same clinical work in a more flexible format. If you’re anywhere in Illinois and ready to talk about your gambling, a good first step is my confidential Gambling Self-Assessment, or you can reach out directly to schedule a session.
